Dear Pet Owners,
As we approach the upcoming 4th of July holiday, I wanted to reach out to everyone with some important updates and safety reminders regarding our daycare operations and your beloved pets’ well-being.
Daycare Closure on July 4th – Firstly, please note that there will be no daycare services on Thursday, July 4th. Considering the increased risks associated with this holiday, such as heat, drunk driving incidents, and fireworks, we’ve made the decision to prioritize everyone’s safety by avoiding potential accidents and losses.
Alternative Exchange Days
We can either arrange your pet exchange on Wednesday, July 3rd, or you’re welcome to come and pick up your dog yourself on July 4th.
Pet Safety Precautions
Now, onto the most important part—these are the steps for you to take, to making sure we, as a team will be able to keep your pets safe and secure during this potentially stressful time:
- 1. Update Photos: Please take an updated photo of your dog.
- 2. Check Collar: Ensure you have a clear photo of your dog’s collar, especially if it has been recently changed.
- 3. Microchip Information: Verify and update the information on your dog’s microchip, particularly if you’ve moved recently.
- 4. Prepare for Fireworks: Research ways to keep your dog entertained, mentally stimulated, and calm during fireworks displays.
- 5. Microchipping Reminder: If your dog isn’t already microchipped, consider doing so as soon as possible.
- 6. Identification Tags: Visit Wag’n’Wash to have identification tags made with your phone number and relevant information.
- 7. Collar Safety: Double-check that your dog’s collar fits properly—snug enough for safety but not too tight.
- 8. Tracking Device: Ensure any tracking devices are charged and subscriptions are active.
- 9. Secure Environment: Walk your fenced perimeter to check for loose or broken pickets that could pose a risk to your dog’s safety.
By taking these precautions and staying informed, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for both you and your pets. Please let me know your preferences for exchanges or if you have any questions regarding these safety measures.
